Amityville High School football players plan to sue Comsewogue School District over alleged racism

Five black football players plan to sue the Comsewogue School District over alleged racism.
The Amityville High School students claim that they were repeatedly called racial slurs by opposing white players throughout their football season, culminating in a violent brawl with Comsewogue High School. They plan to sue the Comsewogue School District, the athletic director and the football coach. Each player is seeking $25 million in damages.
The players' attorney is calling on the Suffolk District Attorney to launch a criminal investigation against the Comsewogue players and coaches.
The Amityville acting superintendent says the district met with the students involved and their parents, and the incident has been reported to the appropriate organizations, including the Amityville Village Police Department, Section XI, and the administrators at Comsewogue School District.
News 12 Long Island reached out to Comsewogue School District for its reaction to the allegations but it has not commented yet.
