An Elmont man accused of raping a minor has been extradited from India and brought back to the Island.
Amit Singh, 32, is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl four years ago. Police say Singh brought the girl into his home as she was on her way to school.
Prosecutors say Singh fled New York the day before the victim positively identified him in a photo line-up. They say he was linked by DNA evidence.
Singh faces 25 years behind bars if convicted.
