American Airlines' baggage handling system at aKennedy Airport terminal is up and running again Thursday, a day after asoftware glitch caused dozens of delays, cancellations and luggagepileups at ticket counters. Airline spokeswoman Andrea Huguely says the system went back upby 6 a.m. Thursday. American Airlines canceled six flights scheduled to departfrom JFK on Thursday morning. The malfunction on Wednesday led tofive cancellations and delays on 48 flights out of Terminal 8, oneof the newer buildings at JFK. Huguely says technicians had diagnosed the problem by Wednesdayevening and were testing it through early morning Thursday. Grounded bags began making their way to their destinations Thursday.
