Experts are warning Long Island residents with allergies to get the tissue boxes ready.
Allergists are predicting the worst allergy season the Island has seen in years due to varied weather conditions in the last few months. Experts say buds started to grow in the warm January temperatures, but the current stretch of cold stunted their growth. Allergists say that once it warms up again, the trees will release pollen in much more concentrated levels than normal.
Doctors recommend getting tested and treated if symptoms become unbearable. Experts say there are plenty of over-the-counter medicines to choose from, but say to consult a doctor before taking anything.
