An alleged victim of slavery at the hands of a Muttontown couple continued her testimony Monday, describing in graphic detail the torture she claims she was put through.
Samirah, one of two Indonesian women who have accused Varsha and Mahender Sabhnani of enslaving them in their multimillion dollar home, told the court that Varsha beat her with a club and broom handles and poked her repeatedly with a knife.
"She sliced my cheek and my back," Samirah said in court. "There were plenty of scars from the piercings with this knife."
The woman said Varsha threw boiling water on her three times and forced her to eat 100 chili peppers as punishment. When Samirah vomited the peppers up, Varsha allegedly made her eat them again.
"Not satisfied that I was dead yet, the missus made me eat six spoons full of powdered chili with water and salt," she said.
Samirah is scheduled to continue testifying Tuesday.
