Advisory issued against bathing at 76 Long Island beaches

Suffolk and Nassau County health departments have issued advisories against bathing at 76 beaches across Long Island.
Officials say it is a precautionary measure for beaches known to be impacted by stormwater runoff caused by heavy rainfall. Runoff can cause elevated bacteria levels in water.
The Nassau County advisory impacts 18 beaches and will be lifted Sunday at 9 a.m.
The Suffolk County advisory impacts 58 beaches and will be lifted at noon Sunday.
