Calls to help amusement parks struggling due to the pandemic continued Friday,
Adventureland is calling for the $130 billion left in PPE funding to be released to the entertainment industry in hopes of keeping them going this winter.
The staff at Adventureland wants to get back to doing what they do best -- running rides and rollercoasters. But due to the pandemic, the park hasn't been able to open its rides to the public, but have been able to stay afloat thanks to drive-in events and graduations.
Because entertainment venues aren't open, the Adventureland parking lot became the alternative for people to come and listen to music.
Area residents say it has been a great idea and have been happy to help support the iconic spot with events like a concert for the band Big Shot.
"He brought some joy into our home and we love listening to him, this will be our third time seeing him," says Debbie Winter, of Huntington.
Adventureland will be hosting a "Ginger Bells" event in December where people can decorate gingerbread houses and take photos with Santa.
