Another lawsuit was filed on Thursday stemming from a shooting that killed a Northport man at a Poughkeepsie hotel last month.
Officials say the lawsuit was filed in State Supreme Court by Olga Hostyeva, a former employee, against Marriott International and Roy Johnson. Johnson is facing charges in the fatal shooting of Paul Kutz, who was also in the lobby.
Hostyeva claims Marriott failed to enforce a strict no weapons and firearms policy, failed to provide personnel with proper training -- which includes active shooter response training.
She says she was working in the lobby when a guest -- later identified as Johnson -- approached her. She says he shot at her, with the bullet missing her head by inches.
News 12 reached out to Marriott International for comment and is awaiting a response.
