A dog horribly abused by its former owners is getting a new home Tuesday.
The Nassau SPCA has announced that Steve Roberts and his family are the lucky people adopting Miss Harper.
As News 12 has reported, Miss Harper was badly abused, her ears and part of her hind leg cut off by her former owners. She was treated at My Pet's Vet in Huntington.
Three people were arrested and charged with animal cruelty. The husband and wife who are being accused will appear in court next month.
The 10-month-old Pit Bull mix has since received a prosthetic leg and went home with her new family.
Anyone interested in adopting Miss Harper's mother, Missy, can reach out to the Nassau SPCA.
