FORECAST: Thunderstorms with strong gusts and downpours are expected during the morning rush across Long Island. Gusts can be in excess of 30-40 mph and can rotate. Rotating thunderstorm winds can create a brief stray tornado. Although it is not promised, it is possible. Conditions improve after 9 a.m. as storms move off the east end. Sunshine is expected for Monday afternoon.
TODAY: Mostly sunny and mild. Highs near 70 with a mostly sunny sky. Temperatures overnight reach the mid-to-upper 50s with a mostly cloudy sky. Rain arrives in the pre-dawn hours.
MONDAY: Strong storms expected in the morning. Some storms can produce severe thunderstorms with damaging gusts. Isolated power outages are possible. Conditions improve by the afternoon to a mostly sunny sky. It will be breezy.
TUESDAY: Mostly sunny and fair. Sun and clouds. Temperatures in the lower 60s. Late clouds and overnight showers arrive.
WEDNESDAY: Morning showers, then quiet and fair. Breezy. Sun and clouds by the afternoon. Highs in the lower 60s.
