Scams targeting senior citizens are on the rise and becoming more complex, authorities say.

More than 3,000 scams were reported on Long Island in 2023.

According to AARP, $73 million were stolen in Nassau County, and $53 million were taken in Suffolk County.

Bank tellers are now being trained to spot unusual withdrawals and report them.
