There are expected to be a record number of travelers at airports and on the roads this holiday season, according to AAA.
"We're seeing more than 1 million additional people who are traveling, 103 million altogether," says Robert Sinclair, of AAA. "That's nearly a third of the entire U.S. population."
The additional travelers means additional patience will be needed by those flying from LaGuardia Airport. Construction at the airport's parking lots have left commuters in need of the free terminal shuttle buses. LIRR customers are advised to use the free LaGuardia shuttle bus to and from the Woodside station.
The Port Authority warns that due to the demolition of the parking lot at Terminal B, paid parking is much more limited at P 4, 5, 7 and lot 10.
Sinclair says all travelers should give themselves some extra time to maneuver.
