A holiday haunted house in Hauppauge is spreading Christmas spirit in their own way.
'A Very Scary Christmas' is set to open this weekend in Hauppauge. The haunted house is usually open during Halloween only, but this year, the creators wanted to put a creative twist on Christmas.
"We think that people love haunted houses and...instead of waiting until next October, they have something new for Christmas," said creator Marty Arominski.
Not everyone is excited about the house, which is full of headless bodies, evil snowmen and a psychotic Santa Claus. Some residents were horrified at the concept and asked for it to be shut down.
Arominski maintains that the house was made to be entertaining. It will be open this weekend, and Dec. 19 and 20.
Organizers say it is not appropriate for those under 18-years-old. The Christmas-themed haunted house is located at 1745 Express Drive North in Hauppauge.
