A 79-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car while crossing Plandome Road in Manhasset.

Nassau police say the woman was crossing the road just after 8 p.m. Sunday. She was taken to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries hours later.

According to officials, the woman was hit by a 2018 Toyota driven by another 79-year-old woman.

The driver stayed at the scene.
