A 7-year-old Lake Grove student is spreading holiday cheer to children in need.
Adrianna Esposito, a student at Cayuga Elementary School, has spent the last month and a half collecting toys. Her mission is to deliver the toys to children and put a smile on their faces.
"I learned that there are many kids that don't have that many presents for Christmas," says Esposito. "And this year they will."
The toy drive started out small, but thanks to social media it snowballed. Esposito has now collected close to 550 toys. Her efforts were also supported by the Fraternal Order of Police, the Sachem Sports Club and Toys R Us.
With the help of her proud parents, the presents will soon be wrapped and brought to struggling families that live in the Sachem School District.
Esposito says she wants everyone to have a merry Christmas.
