Officials have announced that at least 600 retired Long Island Rail Road workers are losing their disability pay.

The Railroad Retirement Board will stop disability payments for the retirees involved in a scam, according to the New York Times.

Disability Dr. Peter Ajemian admitted the retired workers were not really disabled. Ajemian is now serving eight years in prison.

Retired workers will now have to re-apply for the benefits if they submit accurate medical proof of their disabilities.
