A fifth arrest has been made in a suspected gang-related shooting and machete attack in Southold.
The suspect, 20-year-old Albino De Jesus-Medina, of Bay Shore, was in court today.
Police say De Jesus-Medina is a member of the MS-13 street gang, and is part of the group who shot two men on South Harbor Road in Southold last month.
Four other suspects were previously arrested and are being held on $500,000 cash bail.
Prosecutors say the attacks, in which one of the two victims was attacked with a machete, occurred because the victims were from a rival gang.
The two victims survived the attack.
