A $5 million settlement was announced Wednesday to resolve alleged sexual misconduct involving a former soccer coach with Long Island connections.

Three attorney generals, including New York's Letitia James, announced deal with the National Women's Soccer League.

It comes following a 2021 report naming over a dozen former players who accused Paul Riley, a former coach for LIU Post, of sexual coercion. Riley also coached for the Long Island Rough Riders, as well as several other professional soccer teams on Long Island.

The deal also requires the National Women's Soccer League to maintain safeguards to protect athletes.
