A 5-year-old boy from Mineola invented a device that will be manufactured by a British company.
Rhett Pace, who attends the Meadow Drive School in Albertson, won a contest by the company Kids Invent Stuff.
Pace designed a snow-firing device in science class. He calls it the Snowy Blaster.
Pace's prize for winning is that the company will make his creation.
"I gave them a guideline to spark their imagination and really let them go from there. What they can create is unimaginable," says science teacher Katelynn Schmidt.
Engineers will be testing and building the Snowy Blaster, and Kids Invent Stuff will show Pace's creation on its YouTube channel on Dec. 23.
