A hazmat situation on the Long Island Expressway sent four Suffolk police officers to the hospital Wednesday morning.
Police say pool chemicals in the back of a pool company truck interacted with one another and caught fire.
Chopper 12 was over the scene after the eastbound LIE was closed at Exit 63 around 9 a.m.
Four officers were treated for chemical inhalation. The state Department of Environmental Conservation was called in to clean up the incident.
The driver was ticketed for driving without a license.
