Four Long Island heroes who died in the line of duty were honored on Tuesday.
The names of four officers from the Nassau County Police Department were added to the Police Officers Memorial in Albany.
Officer Robert Negri and Det. Charles Vroom both died of 9/11-related cancers. Det. Matthew Perlungher and Hector Nunez died after contracting COVID-19 on the job.
Their names will also be added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington D.C. next Saturday.
