4 Long Islanders among newest winners of NY's vaccine scholarship incentive
Long Island is well-represented in the third week of winners for New York's "Get a Shot to Make Your Future" vaccine campaign.
Four of this week's 10 winners of a full scholarship to a SUNY or CUNY school hail from Long Island: Nassau's Kelly Moscoso-Yanes and Victoria Romero and Suffolk's Emily Brodsky and Aleksander Sosa.
The winners get the scholarship, which covers tuition as well as room and board.
The incentive is being offered to those ages 12-17 who sign up for the raffle online after getting their first vaccine shot.
A total of 50 winners will be announced. Thirty have been awarded thus far -- seven of whom are from Long Island.
