Police say four duck hunters are thankful to be alive this Thanksgiving after their boat overturned in the freezing water in Oceanside.
The men were on a boat near the marshes of Hewlett Harbor just before 7 a.m. when the boat they were on flipped, police say.
Christopher Stedner says he was duck hunting with a friend when he heard the four men, all family members from Queens.
The volunteer firefighter says two men were already on the bank when he arrived. He says he pulled the remaining two men into his boat, rushed to the docks and called 911.
The men were rushed to South Nassau County Hospital and later released.
