3 swimmers rescued from rip current in Long Beach; moderate rip current risk in effect today

A moderate rip current risk is in effect as many swimmers hit the beach to beat the heat again.
Swimmers were saved from a rip current in Long Beach Thursday night near Lincoln Boulevard.
A city spokesperson tells News 12 a good Samaritan helped lifeguards pull three people back to shore.
Two of the people were taken to the hospital, but News 12 has been told everyone is expected to be OK.
The incident happened when lifeguards were off duty.
Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Rich Hoffman says feels-like temps will be around 100 today.

Officials are warning residents that if they go to the beach, to make sure they are swimming in an area that is permitted, and to keep an eye on where the lifeguards are located.
