Three Nassau seniors are being honored for volunteering tens of thousands of hours at a hospital in their community.
Ruth Fortin, June Kane and Jean Silvers were recognized Tuesday afternoon at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside.
They have given about 40,000 hours of service since the 1960s.
The women, who are in their 80s and 90s, received citations, pins of honor and flowers from hospital management.
The three ladies say they don't plan to stop their volunteer work.
