(AP) - Police are looking into any possible connections between the shootings of two basketball players on Long Island.
A 19-year-old man was hospitalized with back and side wounds after he was shot Tuesday night. He was playing basketball on a Brentwood street.
A week ago, a 13-year-old was critically injured. He was shot in the eye while playing basketball in a Brentwood park. Authorities say there's a history of violence at that location.
The shooting scenes are about 3 miles apart.
Police say it's not clear whether either teen was an intended target.
