Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in a residential driveway in Nassau County Saturday night.
The Port Washington Fire Department was alerted to the blaze just before 10 p.m. on Soundview Drive in the Village of Port Washington North.
Upon arrival, crews were met with a minivan fully engulfed in flames in the driveway of a single-family home.
Additionally, a second vehicle parked in the driveway and the house were both at risk for exposure and damage, fire officials say.
Working quickly to stretch the hose and extinguish the fire, portions of the residence and the other SUV sustained limited damage from the radiant heat.
According to fire officials, the rapid work by firefighters on scene helped protect the structure, with only some vinyl siding melting as a result.
There were no reported injuries.
