A Bronx man has been identified as the victim of a fatal motorcycle crash that sparked a fire on the Cross Bronx Expressway, according to the NYPD.

Police say Pedro Cortes, 49, was killed in the crash Saturday afternoon on the westbound side of the expressway near Exit 4.

Investigators say Cortes was riding a motorcycle when he struck a Dodge Durango shortly after 4:45 p.m.

The impact caused the motorcycle to burst into flames, with FDNY crews responding to extinguish the fire.

Cortes suffered severe trauma and was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The 51-year-old woman driving the Dodge Durango remained at the scene.

No arrests have been made.
