Police say a Redding woman is facing charges after she tried to extort money from a former family member.

Wilton police say 52-year-old Adele Kaoud was arrested last Thursday on an active warrant.

Kaoud was charged with second-degree harassment and released after posting bond.

She is due in court next week.
