The NYPD released new data Tuesday showing crime is down in New York City.

According to the data, overall crime year-to-date is down nearly 7%. In the third quarter of 2026, there were 167 shooting incidents, beating the record low in 2025.

NYPD data also shows that murders fell by 19.8% in the first nine months of 2026. Nearly 4,000 guns have also been taken off the streets.

Meanwhile, subway and transit crime is up by 1%.
