Police investigate targeted attempted home invasion and shooting in Bridgeport

An attempted home invasion occurred in Bridgeport Friday evening, officials say.
Officers responded to a home on Butler Avenue around 10:30 p.m. after a resident saw two masked men attempt to break into a side window. Police say the suspects jumped over a fence to enter the property.
Authorities say after the suspects were scared off, they ran into a car to leave. However, before leaving, the pair fired their guns at people who were outside.
No one was injured.
Police said bullets struck a car belonging to one of the people who was targeted in the shooting.
Officers found shell casings in the area and believe the home was targeted.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
