A Brentwood man has been charged with promoting prostitution after investigators alleged he recruited at least three women for commercial sex work at a Holbrook motel, Suffolk County police said.

James Seccadanari, 49, of Brentwood, is a former maintenance employee at the Mac Arthur Inn on Veterans Memorial Highway. He was arrested Monday night at his Brentwood home following a human trafficking investigation, according to police.

Investigators said the case began last fall after authorities received information during a highway patrol arrest. The Suffolk County Police Department's Human Trafficking Investigations Unit then launched an investigation and determined Seccadanari allegedly recruited at least three women to engage in commercial sex work at the motel.

The Mac Arthur Inn was closed earlier this year during a Town of Islip investigation that uncovered multiple code violations, police said.

Seccadanari was charged with promoting prostitution and is expected to be arraigned later Tuesday.

Police said investigators believe there may be additional victims beyond the three women currently identified.

Anyone with information related to the case is encouraged to contact Suffolk County police.
