President Donald Trump is scheduled to be on Long Island today, where he will tour the Nassau County Police Training Center, tout crime statistics and rally with cops alongside Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman.

“President Trump promised to make America safe again and the data proves he has done just that," White House spokesperson Lauren Bis wrote in a statement ahead of the visit. "Unlike Defund-the-Police Democrats, President Trump will always stand with our law enforcement officers and deliver safer American neighborhoods.”

Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel are expected to join Trump. The President will then hold a press conference on the FBI's 2025 Crime Statistics report, which found drops in major crime across the board.

Nassau County police said people who live and work in Garden City, Mineola, East Meadow, Uniondale, Hempstead and the surrounding areas should expect intermittent road closures, delays and increased traffic because of the visit.

Officials did not name specific streets but said commercial areas would be more heavily impacted than residential neighborhoods.

Hundreds of Nassau County residents are expected to hold a protest in the free speech zone near the police facility on Perimeter Road and Endo Drive in Uniondale this morning. They are expected to focus on the rising cost of living on Long Island and the impact of policies they say are making Nassau County increasingly unaffordable for working families.

They'll be joined by elected Democrats and Lieutenant Governor candidate Adrienne Adams, who is running alongside Gov. Kathy Hochul this November.

Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, the Republican candidate challenging Hochul, will be inside with Trump.

A spokesperson for Nassau Community College said the Secret Service has been on site all week looking at cameras and spaces to make sure the college is well prepared for a visit from the President of the United States.

Security is expected to be tight throughout the day.

Gates will open up for people with tickets beginning at noon. The event is scheduled to begin around 3 p.m.
