STORM WATCH: Severe thunderstorm watch posted ahead of tonight's weather in Brooklyn

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible this evening, with some storms capable of producing flash flooding.

Tonight's weather is the main concern as showers and thunderstorms move through the area. While not everyone will see severe weather, some storms could produce heavy downpours, frequent lightning and brief gusty winds.

There is also an elevated risk for flash flooding tonight as well, so make sure you are staying weather aware throughout the evening and first half of the overnight hours.

Once tonight's storms move out, the weekend looks much quieter overall. An isolated shower or thunderstorm remains possible late Saturday, but most of the day will be dry with a mix of sunshine and warm temperatures. Sunday and Monday feature plenty of sunshine and warm conditions before scattered thunderstorms return Tuesday.

Temperatures remain above average through the forecast period, with highs climbing back near 90 degrees by Tuesday before settling into the mid- to upper 80s by mid next week. Humidity levels also remain on the high side throughout Tuesday as well.

Saturday: Mostly sunny with a slight chance of a late-day shower or thunderstorm. Highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

Sunday: Mostly sunny and warm. Highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

Monday: Sunny and warm. Highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a chance of afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms. Highs near 90 degrees.

Wednesday: Partly sunny. Highs in the mid- to upper 80s.

Thursday: Partly sunny. Highs in the mid- to upper 80s.
