An Italian eatery in Nassau County is closing its doors after almost two decades.

The owners of La Nonna Bella in Garden City made the announcement on social media on Friday.

The restaurant on Franklin Avenue had been serving customers a combination of classic dishes and newer culinary trends for 18 years.

The unexpected closure came after they could not reach a new lease agreement.

“What began as a dream, became a home filled with laughter, celebrations, friendships and countless memories shared around our tables,” the owners said on their Facebook page.

“None of it would have been possible without the unwavering support and loyalty of our guests, staff, family and friends,” the post continued.

They also hinted at a possible new business venture in the future.
