Man slashed in the face, stabbed in the chest in Hampton Bays

A man was stabbed during a fight on the East End on Thursday afternoon.
Southampton Town Police received a report of an active physical altercation involving two people on the sidewalk in Hampton Bays.
Officers responded to 162 West Montauk Highway around 2:30 p.m. and found only one person still on scene suffering from apparent stabbing-related injuries.
The victim had been slashed on the face and stabbed in the chest by the other man who had fled the scene, police say.
Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported the victim, whose identity was not released by police, to a local hospital for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
No arrest has been made.
