Police are searching for the person they say is responsible for a double shooting in Soundview.

It happened Saturday night just after 11:45 p.m. near Bronx River Avenue and East 174th Street.

The NYPD says the shooter was riding a motorized scooter when he opened fire, striking an 18-year-old man in the left arm and a 23-year-old man in the torso.

Paramedics rushed both victims to nearby hospitals, where they are expected to recover, according to police.

The NYPD says the gunman took off on the motorized scooter after the shooting, riding southbound on Bronx River Avenue.
