Tuesday's Storm Recap:

Heavy rain and flooding plagued the region yesterday. Tarrytown saw nearly 5 inches of rain!

The National Weather Service confirmed an EF-0 tornado touched down just after 4 p.m. Tuesday with peak winds of 85 mph. The tornado carved a path nearly 2 miles long from Purchase to Rye Brook, leaving downed trees at Manhattanville College and across surrounding neighborhoods.

Forecast:

An amazing stretch of weather is on tap for the region. High pressure builds through the morning and afternoon and settles through the weekend. What this means for us is that from now until about Monday evening, we have a sunny, dry, and quiet few days, and yes, that includes the weekend.

Today you can expect a very pleasant afternoon, a light breeze from the north, and plenty of sunshine. Temperatures will rise to the upper 70s near 80 degrees. The low humidity will be noticeable throughout the day. Leading to a refreshing morning and an amazing afternoon. Tonight, skies will be clear with a cool feel as temperatures fall to near 60 degrees.

Friday into the weekend, slightly warmer, but still no issues to speak of. You can expect sunny skies, temperatures slightly below average, and low humidity. This pattern will shift by Monday. Expecting a storm system to move into the region, bringing rain and storm chances early next week.
