Man killed after being pinned under tractor that rolled backwards in Commack

The victim was found unconscious under the vehicle around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on Veterans Memorial Highway.

A man is dead after a crash in Suffolk County Tuesday afternoon.

Suffolk Police Fourth Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances following the single-vehicle collision involving a tractor.

Abdelmontalab Sati, 62, of Amsterdam, NY, got out of the 2023 International tractor and walked behind the vehicle which then rolled backwards and struck him, police say.

Sati was found unconscious with his legs pinned under the tractor around 4:30 p.m. on Veterans Memorial Highway in Commack.

Detectives are investigating what time the incident occurred.

The victim was taken to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown where he was pronounced dead.
