WHAT TO KNOW

The weather will be brighter and warmer this week, especially the next few days. Temperatures will jump up into the upper 70s and low 80s, feeling more summer like again.

Winds will be light and out of the southwest, so they will help with a warm-up. Since the winds will be light overall, sea breezes will develop in the afternoon along the Jersey Shore and keep temperatures down. Beaches will mainly see high temperatures in the 60s and 70s.

New Jersey will be in and out of the clouds the next few days with only a slight risk of showers or a few thunderstorms on Wednesday over the southern half of the state.

Temperatures will be warmest for the first half of the week, with seasonable 70s for the second half.
