16-year-old arrested for fatal shooting of artist in Fort Greene

Police say Davis was found with gunshot wounds outside the NYCHA complex at 75 Cumberland Walk at around 10 a.m. on April 12.

A 16-year-old boy is in custody following the fatal shooting of 43-year-old Jamel Davis outside of his apartment in Fort Greene.

Police say Davis was found with gunshot wounds outside the NYCHA complex at 75 Cumberland Walk at around 10 a.m. on April 12.

Davis was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The 16-year-old is facing charges for murder and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.
