The owners of the store lost $1 million in gold and diamonds on Wednesday when four masked men crashed through the front windows of the store on Madison Avenue in Perth Amboy and grabbed merchandise.

Owner Stephanie Duran and her mother tried desperately to hold onto those thieves and keep them from getting away in a getaway car. But they were tossed aside as the men drove away in a grey and black BMW SUV.

Duran was able to pull off the hood and mask of one of those men and get a look at his face.

Duran and her relatives were back at the store Friday cleaning up broken glass from the floor and display case.

Duran is working with her suppliers and is hoping to have new inventory and possibly reopen by Monday.
