Gas prices are surging as the war with Iran intensifies.

Crude oil prices have officially topped $110 a barrel.

U.S. and Israeli forces struck the largest fuel storage facility in Iran Sunday night.

President Donald Trump weighed in on the rising prices in a Truth Social post, saying it's a "very small price to pay for U.S.A.”

Trump also said the spike in prices will only last a short period of time.

Patrick De Haan, a Petroleum Analyst for GasBuddy tells News 12, "Gas prices will likely continue advancing. Oil prices will likely keep climbing until that oil can move again."

As of Monday morning, the average price for a gallon of gas on Long Island is up to $3.34 – that’s a 47 cent jump compared to this time last week.

The national average is $3.48, according to AAA.
