A prison drug smuggling operation has led to the arrest of a corrections officer from New Jersey.
Delaware State Police said they arrested 34-year-old Rashod Hull of Pemberton, New Jersey, 30-year-old Isaiah Boykin of Wilmington, Delaware, and 35-year-old Autumn James of Conowingo, Maryland in connection to an investigation at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in Wilmington.
The Delaware Department of Correction contacted Delaware State Police on Jan. 16, 2026, regarding a possible smuggling operation involving a correctional officer and an inmate.
Officials said between Dec. 2025 and Jan. 2026, Hull accepted payments from Boykin in exchange for delivering narcotics into the prison, with help from James to complete the exchanges.
On Feb. 1, detectives responded to the Peoples Plaza Shopping Center in Newark, where they witnessed a drug transaction between Hull and James, police said.
After the arrest, authorities recovered about 264 doses of suspected synthetic marijuana, 24 grams of remifentanil and 27 strips of suspected Suboxone.
In a statement, the Department of Correction commissioner said illegal contraband poses risks to the safety, health and well-being of staff, visitors and incarcerated individuals, adding that the department remains vigilant and will hold those involved accountable.
Hull is charged with official misconduct, racketeering, possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, receiving a bribe, promoting prison contraband and second-degree conspiracy.
He is being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $132,000 secured bond.
