A man is facing charges for a hit-and-run crash that killed a 75-year-old pedestrian Saturday in Uniondale, according to police.

Authorities say a Jeep Wrangler struck the victim at the intersection of Maple Avenue and Hempstead Boulevard around 3:20 p.m. The man was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead.

Police say the driver, now identified as 71-year-old Cesar Manzo, was arrested at a residence on Goodrich Street shortly after an investigation.

He is charged with leaving the scene of an incident resulting in death. Officials say he will be arraigned Sunday in Hempstead.
