Driver charged with DWI in East End crash that injured at least 5

A driver is facing DWI charges for a three-vehicle crash that left at least five people hurt Saturday night on the East End, according to police.

Authorities say it happened around 7:44 p.m. on County Route 104.

The extent of the injuries is unclear. However, Southampton police say one victim was airlifted to the hospital.

The driver, identified as 22-year-old Erik A. Yatvelasquez, was arrested at the scene.

A portion of County Route 104 was closed during the investigation but has since been reopened.
