A Sullivan County man died after being struck by a tree in Orange County.

Wallkill Town police say it happened Thursday afternoon in a wooded area in the vicinity of 38 Derby Road.

Police say the 45-year-old man was cutting a tree and suffered serious injuries when he was struck in the chest and shoulder area.

He was later pronounced dead.
