A Lake Ronkonkoma woman accused of leaving the scene of a crash that seriously injured a teenager Tuesday is facing charges, according to police.

Authorities say the 13-year-old boy was riding an e-bike on Hawkins Avenue when a car struck him around 8:30 p.m. The driver of a 2012 white Ford Fusion then drove off.

The driver was later identified as 47-year-old Virginia Waka. She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court in Central Islip at a later date.

Authorities say the victim is expected to recover.
