A state parole officer from Freeport has been indicted on child sexual abuse material charges.

The indictment says Colin Kowlessar voluntarily handed over his devices and gave federal agents the passwords.

It came after Kowlessar landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport in February.

Kowlessar is also a licensed psychotherapist for teens.

Kowlessar was released on $250,000 bond.

He will be arraigned next week.
