Town of Babylon hosts 18th annual Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride

The Town of Babylon and the Wounded Warrior Project came together Friday for the 18th Annual Soldier Ride.
The 22-mile cycle journey from Babylon Town Hall in Lindenhurst to Overlook Beach brings together injured veterans and the community to raise awareness and support for recovery and mental health resources.
This year’s event was dedicated to late Chief John “Jack” Miller. He was a beloved committee member who was part of the Soldier Ride team for nearly two decades.
About 40 Wounded Warrior Project veterans and over 1,000 registered riders were expected to participate in this year’s ride.
This year, a portion of the proceeds benefits Warrior Ranch Foundation, a local nonprofit that helps veterans and first responders manage post-traumatic stress through therapeutic work with rescue horses.
Soldier Ride New York will ride through the Hamptons on Saturday, where the first Soldier Ride began in 2004.
